
Stefán Víkingur

Stefán Víkingur is an American-Icelandic dramatic tenor whose unique voice and artistry have captivated audiences across the U.S. and Europe. Alongside his work as a singer, Stefán is also a composer, conductor, and educator, that brings passion and intensity to the stage, shaping music as both performer and creator. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in vocal performance at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music under the guidance of renowned soprano Ana María Martínez. He has performed operatic and concert repertoire across the U.S. and Europe, and appeared in roles such as The Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas), Barigoule (Cendrillon), and Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus). A regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition and winner of both the University of Arizona Concerto Competition and Larry Day Vocal Competition, he has been praised by leading composers for his “stunning” performances. Beyond the stage, Stefán works as a composer, developing his compositions—primarily orchestral, operatic, and song repertoire—while focusing on his vocal career. He has also taught privately, specializing in young queer voices, and served as Assistant Artistic Director of Desert Voices, reflecting his commitment to excellence, education, and inclusivity in the arts.
